MDRS party ready for the off, Wolverton Works, 21 January Wolverton Works is the oldest railway works in existence, albeit the site is now only used for the maintenance and refurbishment of rolling stock by Railcare. LNWR Bloomer, Wolverton Works, 21 January One of the unusual items inside the works was this replica of LNWR Bloomer 670 built in 1991 for display outside Milton Keynes Central station and is awaiting relocation either at the works or the Milton Keynes Museum. (Bob Mason) |
Stony Stratford Tram, Milton Keynes, 21 January After the tour, the party moved on to the aforementioned museum which has an excellent transport exhibition. The centrepiece is this tramcar from the Wolverton & Stony Stratford Tramway, the last steam worked tramway in Britain. (Bob Mason) |
