Welcome to the Marlow & District Railway Society
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of one of our members, David Woodhead, who passed away on Monday 15th April after a short illnes. Our thoughts go out to his wife Ann. Mike will give out the details of the funeral in the next newsletter. |
Founded in 1977, we are a group of railway enthusiasts based in Marlow, Buckinghamshire, and with members from the surrounding districts, including High Wycombe, Bourne End, Henley, Maidenhead, Twyford, Reading and Wokingham. Our activities include regular monthly meetings at the Bourne End Community Centre and outings to places of railway interest (see the club gallery pages for some examples). We also publish our own illustrated magazine The Marlow Donkey. Meetings are open to non-members, but why not join us?
Our next public meeting will be on
Thursday 16th May 2024 at 7:30pm.
when
Richard Crane
will present
"Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire Branch Lines".
Richard will be reviewing past and present branch lines in these counties contrasting long forgotten scenes of a pre-Beeching steam railway with the much changed situation on the few surviving branch lines.

THIS WILL BE A HYBRID MEETING, WITH THE ACTUAL MEETING TAKING PLACE AT THE BOURNE END COMUNITY CENTRE, AND THE PRESENTATION ALSO BEING TRANSMITTED ON ZOOM FOR MDRS MEMBERS.
