The former Great Western & Great Central Joint line

A major event in 2008 was the introduction of a loco-hauled passenger service from Wrexham and Shrewsbury into London Marylebone, reinstating a 'real' train service on the local railways after a break of many years. This gallery marks this event and includes pictures of the service and the training runs that took place before it started. Also included are pictures of freight services on the joint line (the so-called 'binliner' rubbish trains to the landfill site at Calvert), special trains (steam and diesel) and any unusual workings.

Maidenhead - High Wycombe and the Marlow branch

In 2007 to mark the society's 30th anniversary we started a gallery page to display historic pictures of the Marlow branch line and the now-closed Bourne End - High Wycombe line. This has proved very popular with visitors.

Our gallery of some historic railway images has now moved elsewhere, where it is still available for the time being.
